Helena Elston Studio began in London in 2021 with a focus on regenerative design and material innovation. After completing her MA in Textile Design at the Royal College of Art, Helena started working with mycelium to explore how living systems could transform fashion’s environmental impact.
Now based in New York City, the studio creates garments and accessories using only deadstock and textile waste… no new materials. By combining these with mycelium, each piece becomes part of a circular process that challenges fast fashion and supports ecological regeneration.
The work has been exhibited internationally, including Fugue Gallery NYC, the London Design Festival and Mycelium Futures in Berlin, and featured in National Geographic, Dezeen, Hypebeast, and more. The studio collaborates with brands, universities, artists, and researchers exploring biomaterials, art and circular design.
